TLDR
Uniswap now offers built-in bridging powered by Across. Uniswap Bridge allows you to transfer assets seamlessly between Ethereum, Base, Optimism, Arbitrum, and more—all without leaving the Uniswap app. This integration provides fast, cheap, and secure crosschain transfers, eliminating the need for third-party bridges. Simply select your token, choose a destination chain, and confirm the transaction.
Introduction
Are you trying to bridge your tokens from one chain to another?
With so many networks available, bridging tokens can be very confusing and frustrating. We need efficient ways to move assets across chains without friction. While Uniswap is widely known for its decentralized trading and DeFi innovations, you may not realize that you can also bridge assets directly within the Uniswap app, thanks to its integration with Across Protocol.
In this guide, we’ll explain how the Uniswap Bridge works, why it’s the best option for fast, cheap, and secure transfers, and provide a step-by-step walk-through on how to bridge tokens using Uniswap.
What Is Uniswap Bridge?
The Uniswap Bridge is an embedded bridging solution powered by Across Protocol. This integration allows Uniswap users to move crypto assets—including ETH, stablecoins, and wBTC—between Ethereum mainnet, Base, Optimism, Arbitrum, and many other supported chains directly within the Uniswap app.
Note that Uniswap Bridge is not a separate protocol.
How It Works
Uniswap’s bridging feature leverages Across' Intents-based system under the hood to enable seamless crosschain transfers. We call this bridge abstraction, as it removes the complexities of crosschain transactions. You simply enjoy a near-instant bridging experience without ever leaving the Uniswap app.
Here’s what happens when you bridge assets:
You select a token and destination chain within the Uniswap app.
Across executes the transfer quickly and efficiently with minimal fees.
Funds arrive quickly on the destination chain, ready for you to use.
This process eliminates the need for third-party bridging apps and provides a smoother user experience directly within Uniswap.
Why Use Uniswap for Bridging Tokens?
If you're already using Uniswap to swap tokens, the bridging process will feel very intuitive for you and offers several key advantages over other solutions. Here’s why Uniswap’s bridging experience stands out:
Built-In Convenience – You don't need to leave the Uniswap app. You can easily swap and bridge assets all in one place.
Fast and Cheap Transfers – Thanks to Across’ decentralized network of relayers, transactions settle quickly with minimal fees and network costs.
High Security – Across is built with optimistic verification and economic security to prevent malicious activity.
Seamless Support for Multiple Networks – Move assets across Ethereum, Base, Optimism, Arbitrum, and more without complexity.
Uniswap’s embedded bridge offers the best combination of speed, cost-efficiency, and security for DeFi users, traders, and liquidity providers.
How to Bridge Tokens Using the Uniswap Web App
Bridging on Uniswap is fast and user-friendly. Follow these steps to bridge assets in just a few clicks:
Step 1: Open the Uniswap App
Visit the Uniswap app at app.uniswap.org and connect your Ethereum-compatible wallet (e.g., MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, or WalletConnect).

Open the Uniswap app and connect your wallet.
Step 2: Choose Your Origin Tokens and Network
Select the token you want to bridge on the origin chain (where your tokens are currently held).

Choose the token you want to bridge and the origin chain it is located on.
Step 3: Choose Your Destination Token and Network
Select the same token on the destination chain (where you want your tokens to arrive).

Choose the same token on the destination chain.
Step 4: Enter the Amount You Want to Bridge
Type the amount of your selected token that you want to bridge.

Enter the amount you want to bridge.
Step 5: Review the Transaction
Click “Review,” and then Uniswap will prompt you with a message explaining that you are about to bridge your tokens. When you are ready, click “Continue.”

Confirm that you want to bridge your tokens.
Step 6: Complete the Transaction
Uniswap will display the estimated transfer time and fee. Review the details carefully before confirming the transaction. When you’re ready, click “Swap.”

Review your transaction before confirming it.
Step 7: Confirm in Your Wallet
Once you confirm, Across processes the transfer and your assets will arrive on the selected chain within seconds. You will be prompted with a banner confirmation once the transaction is completed onchain.

Confirm your transaction in your wallet and wait for it to complete (it should only take a few seconds).
Note that you can also bridge crypto within your Uniswap wallet.
Example: How to Bridge ETH to Base on Uniswap
Let’s walk through an example: Bridging ETH from Ethereum mainnet to Base using Uniswap.
Go to the Uniswap app and connect your wallet.
Select ETH as the token to bridge and Ethereum mainnet as the origin.
Choose ETH on Base as the destination.
Review the estimated transfer time and fee.
Click “Confirm” and approve the transaction in your wallet.
Wait for the transfer to complete—your ETH will be available on Base shortly!

(PS: You can also bridge from Ethereum to Base straight from the Across Bridge dApp).
The Future of Crosschain Transfers
The Uniswap Bridge makes it possible to move assets across chains without leaving the Uniswap ecosystem. By combining Uniswap’s intuitive interface with Across’ fast, secure bridging technology, you get the best of both worlds.
Together, Uniswap and Across are unifying the Ethereum ecosystem. As Across and Uniswap continue to pioneer the development of ERC-7683, more applications and platforms are adopting Across’ crosschain framework. In fact, Uniswap is one of many dApps using Across to power native bridging and crosschain actions. There’s a good chance you may be using Across on other dApps without knowing it.
