TL;DR: Across has deployed on Aleph Zero’s new Arbitrum-Orbit EVM chain, offering fast, affordable, and secure crosschain transfers and Fast Withdrawals. Aleph Zero, known for its focus on privacy and speed, aims to expand its ecosystem with Across’s interoperability. Aleph Zero also supports ERC-7683—a universal crosschain Intents standard co-developed by Across and Uniswap Labs.
Introduction
Across’ first Arbitrum-Orbit chain integration is here.
Our industry-leading bridging solution is now live on Aleph Zero’s EVM chain, delivering fast, affordable, and secure crosschain transactions to their growing ecosystem.
Let’s explore Aleph Zero’s cutting-edge technology, how Across brings unmatched interoperability to their ecosystem, and why Aleph Zero supports ERC-7683.
What is Aleph Zero?
Aleph Zero is a Layer 1 blockchain focused on speed and privacy. The chain uses a unique consensus mechanism and zero-knowledge proofs to provide private transactions with sub-second finality. While its L1 chain has been live for nearly three years, its team recently launched a new EVM chain in August to broaden the ecosystem and enhance developer accessibility.
Aleph Zero’s EVM chain operates as a standard Arbitrum-Orbit chain, and the team plans to incorporate privacy-enhancing features for EVM-based applications. This development elevates Aleph Zero’s offerings and expands the impact of its growing ecosystem. Soon, developers familiar with Ethereum's environment will be able to leverage Aleph Zero’s privacy features.
Aleph Zero’s ecosystem consists of its L1 chain and L2 Arbitrum-Orbit chain.
Across Powers Crosschain Interoperability
Across is Ethereum’s fastest crosschain bridging solution. With Across, users get lightning-fast transfers, minimal fees, and robust security. Across has launched on Aleph Zero’s Arbitrum-Orbit chain to facilitate the flow of new liquidity into their growing ecosystem.
Key points of this integration:
Fast Transfers: Aleph Zero users can now experience the unmatched speed of Across’s bridging, completing transfers in just 2 seconds.
Multichain Access: Users can bridge to and from Aleph Zero across 14 other EVM chains.
Cost Efficiency: One of Across’s standout features is its affordability, offering low transaction fees that make cross-chain interactions accessible and economical.
Aleph Zero is the first Arbitrum-Orbit chain supported by Across. This collaboration not only boosts Aleph Zero’s ecosystem but also paves the way for more Arbitrum-Orbit chains to be added in the coming weeks and months.
Across Bridge outperforms third-party bridges in speed, cost, and security.
Arbitrum Fast Withdrawals: Bridging Orbit Chains
Arbitrum's Fast Withdrawals have transformed the ecosystem, cutting withdrawal times from 15 days to 15 minutes. For Across users, this means even faster transfers—clocking in at an impressive 2 seconds. However, Fast Withdrawals only support transfers from child to parent chains, like Orbit L2 to Arbitrum One. It does not support direct transfers between sibling Orbit chains.
This is where Across steps in. As Across deploys onto more Orbit chains, users will be able to bridge their assets between them without ever touching the parent chain. For example, let’s say you want to transfer your funds from Orbit chain 1 to Orbit chain 2. Instead of transferring assets from Orbit chain 1 to Arbitrum and then from Arbitrum to Orbit chain 2, you’ll be able to bridge your funds directly between Orbit chains.
How does it work? Across’s network of third-party relayers does the heavy lifting for the user, seamlessly performing the necessary steps behind the scenes—bridging from the first Orbit chain to the parent chain and then to the second Orbit chain. This ensures a fast, efficient, and cost-effective transfer experience across the entire Arbitrum ecosystem.
As Across deploys on other Arbitrum-Orbit chains, users will be able to bridge funds directly between them.
Aleph Zero Supports ERC-7683
Co-developed by Across and Uniswap Labs, ERC-7683 is a universal standard for crosschain Intents designed to simplify EVM interoperability and streamline user experience.
ERC-7683 will make developing and using crosschain dApps easier, driving innovation and adoption across EVM ecosystems. By joining the ERC-7683 campaign, Aleph Zero pledges its commitment to seamless crosschain functionality and better user experiences.
